SpaceTimeTrvlr's Drawings: Mar10 Day 2026

Hey all, it's SpaceTimeTrvlr again. For Mar10 Day (or, Mario Day), Zack has been sent to the Mushroom Kingdom and given an outfit fit for a plumber! Perhaps this calls for an adventure to defeat an oversized turtle and save the princess...

SpaceTimeTrvlr's Drawings: Zack and VJ Posing in Style!

Hey all, I'm back once again, and sooner than usual. Yeah, I've found myself drawing a lot more lately, which is something I should probably do more often anyway, and made these cool little pictures of Zack and VJ!

I wanna say that these are poses that each character are respectively hitting often, because I wanted these drawings to kind of reflect Zack and VJ's respective personalities.

Anyway, I guess I'll post more drawings or perhaps another actual "blog post" whenever I get around to doing more. Until then, I'll talk to you again soon (hopefully).

SpaceTimeTrvlr's Drawings: Zack and VJ in Flipnote

I've been hyperfixated on Flipnote Studio lately (it's always been an interest of mine, but I've been really into it recently), so I decided to make some doodles of Zack and VJ with that quirky ol' DSi program. I even made GIFs where the characters blink from time to time!

I actually might post my drawings here more often since Twitter isn't exactly the best place to post art anymore, especially with other users being able to AI-slopify your art more easily thanks to the "edit image" feature. Thanks, but no thanks.

Over and out,

SpaceTimeTrvlr's Log #3: Hope You Like the Holidays

Hey all, long time no see. I'm aware that I haven't made a new blog post in months, but that's mainly because I was focusing on other things, like getting used to college again and getting the new Spacetime Comics website up and running. Speaking of which, I still have a long way to go before the new site is finished, which I hope to have in such a state by the end of the year.

The last quarter of the year is upon us, and with it comes the arrival of the HalloThanksMas season. Sort of. The bad ol' retailers have been preluding to it since July at the very least, and Spirit Halloween stores started popping up all across the country in August. It's only now that the season is in full swing, and October is pretty much the absolute last gasp of sanity before Christmas takes over everything come next month. Personally, I can wait until after Thanksgiving to start celebrating the big holiday that every company insists that we start celebrating the minute November starts.

Honestly though, I want to enjoy the other things fall has to offer before I even think about celebrating the holidays, like the beautiful scenery and the sound of crunching leaves, for instance. I also can't wait until Daylight Savings ends, so that night falls an hour earlier. Some people might not like that, including myself at one point in time, but these days I'm finding that it being dark at 5pm has kind of an aura to it. Thankfully, it also seems like the summer weather won't overstay its welcome this year, like it did last year in these parts. I swear, it seemed like it was consistently going over the 80-degree mark until the middle of October at the very least last year. I have no idea about other parts of the U.S., but at least around here, summer went when it was supposed to this year.

As I stated before, enjoy these miniscule bits of sanity while you still can, because before you know it, the first Christmas commercial will hit the airwaves (which'll probably be well before the first snowflake hits the ground). In fact, last month, I briefly went in Michael's, and I saw that they already had Christmas trees in boxes in the back, with Halloween stuff displayed prominently in the front! They were probably just getting all the Christmas stuff ready for when Halloween fades into the rear-view mirror, but still. Can't even imagine thinking about chestnuts roasting on an open fire when it's still 80 degrees outside (or, it was. I originally typed this post in September, but went back and revised it today). Wait until after Thanksgiving, then we can talk.

But let's not let retailers trying to capitalize on 'Ween and 'Mas for as long as humanly possible ruin our enjoyment of these holidays, and let's not let their near-complete ignorance of 'Giving prevent us from enjoying that, either. Some may have already started celebrating, but personally, I can wait to get fully into the HalloThanksMas spirit.

I can't guarantee that I'll update this blog regularly, but I'll see you whenever I feel like making another post. Until then, take care. Over and out!

SpaceTimeTrvlr's Drawings: VJ's Movie Night

A bit of a follow-up to the "Trash TV Talkin'" comic (available on ZHC), where VJ has once again invited Zack over to the MVC studios, this time for her birthday, where they watch "Lamezilla vs. The Big Funky Monkey: In 3D" while chowing down on some cake. Zack has his doubts about the 3D glasses actually working, though...

Also I did a little experiment with the speech bubbles in this one, with the outlines being color-coded according to the character who's talking (or thinking). Let me know what you think about that! :D

SpaceTimeTrvlr's Log #2: A little mishap + the blandification of (almost) everything

Hey all, Zack (aka SpaceTimeTrvlr) here, once more...

For the past couple days, I was unable to access my blog due to every browser on my computer throwing a 403 Forbidden error every time I tried to access it. Thankfully, I finally figured it out shortly before I started typing this entry; turns out my antivirus was blocking all "blogspot.com" links due to it thinking the site was "suspicious". After setting it to allow this domain, I'm finally back to blogging in peace!

Anyway, have you noticed just how bland everything has become in the past decade or so? Everything from buildings to soda cans and especially technology went through significant downgrades in their designs compared to previous decades. Luckily, there seems to be pushback against this recent trend of making everything flat and boring, if a few recent rebrands are anything to go by (i.e. Pepsi, Apple, etc.), plus lots of folks in my generation (Gen Z) are growing sick and tired of everything getting oversimplified to the moon and back. Speaking of my generation, it seems that maybe I'm more influenced by the older generations than I let on, considering my obsession with music and aesthetics from bygone eras, including time periods that I wasn't even alive in. But, I'm getting off-topic, aren't I...

I managed to catch the tailend of the Frutiger Aero era of graphic design when I was a little kid (born in '05, BTW), and admittedly, I was kind of intruiged by Flat Design in its early stages when I was growing up. Maybe it was because I was also intrigued by pretty much any new trends in technology back then, but I don't know. As I got older and entered my teenage years, I grew to be much less optimistic about all this as Flat Design was becoming increasingly more prevalent everywhere and "blandification" as I like to call it, was consuming everything in its path. My local Target got rid of the neon lights and snack bar (Starbucks? Aren't there enough of those already?!), McDonald's moved to a new location that looked much blander than the old one, and so on and so forth.

One of the biggest casualties of blandification has gotta be the Internet. Certain websites used to be fun and full of personality, and you used to be able to customize pretty much everything about your personal web and social media pages. Now, for the past decade or so, our options have become severely limited, with most sites only allowing you to set your profile picture and banner. THAT'S IT. That's why I really like sites like Blogger, which still allow for the full extent of customization you used to have before most sites got oversimplified to oblivion. I'm loving how the look of my blog has turned out so far, and I'm glad I was able to make a page to reflect my personality and interests!

With that out of the way, I'll get out of cranky-old-man mode and leave you with a concept drawing I did to try and visualize how this blog would look while I was on vacation earlier this month, which I made using Colors! 3D on my 3DS.

Until next time, peace out! ✌

SpaceTimeTrvlr's Log #1: This blog exists

Hey everyone! Zack (aka SpaceTimeTrvlr) here.

Welcome to SpaceTimeTrvlr's Log, a blog where I will post my thoughts, rant about stuff, maybe post some art, and other things that interest me.

The idea for this blog came to me while I was on vacation earlier this week. I begun to think that I might be spending too much time on social media (Twitter especially), and I wasn't getting too much out of it. As a result, I thought that I should reduce my time mindlessly scrolling through these stupid apps during my free time, and Twitter in particular stood out to me as problem, considering how much it pushes for negative posts and hatred for engagement, along with its other not-so-great policies. From what I've heard, its alternatives/competitors aren't that great either. Bluesky is basically Facebook for Tumblr refugees (or, BOOORING), Threads was deader than a doornail after its first few months (plus it's owned by Facebook), and Mastodon is...well, I have no clue about Mastodon.

Basically, I wanted to avoid all the microblogging sites, considering that I was already bound by Twitter's annoying character limit with my posts there, plus its alternatives are either boring, dead, or both. Soooooo...this blog exists now. How are things going to be here? Well, I'll figure that out as we go. I'm probably going to relegate my longer posts/rants to here, so I don't have to make tweet threads over on a certain other site that I've already mentioned plenty of times in this post.

Stay tuned for more...
